Opinion: Why The GOP Isn't Dead And Why They'll Win The Senate In 2014

Despite what many of us hear from the media and different liberal groups, the Republican Party isn't dead, and it never was.

A recent YouGov survey shows, in fact, that the majority of Americans are or lean conservative on most issues. Those issues include the economy, national security, and of all things, abortion.

Our president is Democrat, our senate is democrat as well. But our congress is republican and so are the overwhelming majority of governors and state houses across the country. In fact, some of the most liberal states have conservative governors and conservative state governments. And they always have. And because of that, you must admit that their is a slight problem with the Republican Party on a national level. However, the GOP is not dead, and it won't be dead until the Democrats are as well. And that's because never in history has or will 100% or 60% of Americans agree with each other on every issue. And in different races on different levels, weather your "democrat" or republican," you most likely have a history of voting across the isle.

For example if I were to step into Massachusetts, one of the most liberal states in the country, and poll 1% of voters, there is a 0% chance that I won't find someone that differs from the majority of Massachusetts.

In the recent special senate election there, Republican Gabriel Gomez received between 44%-45% of the vote- a strong showing for a republican in that state.

Let's use a hypethitcal here: Let's protend that 100% of the voters are democrat. That would mean, for example, that 44%-45% of voters crossed party lines to vote for the Republican. In effect meaning that if you polled 1% of Massachusetts voters, Atleast 40% would tell you that they voted Republican, while only 9%-15% are actually republican. That means, hypothetically speaking, that 40% minus 15% is 25%. Giving you the result that 25% changed their decision and voted against party lines.

It's a tough scenario. And that's also precisely the reason that the Republican Party isn't dead.
